For anyone that needs that extra kick in the cutie patootie to get going in the morning, I dedicate this not-so-extra, but extra iced coffee post to you. Ready for it.... lehgo...
Boss-biatch-blonde-unicorns don't have extra time to spare in the morning to scrounge for caffeine. Do yourself a solid and add your favorite concentrated cold brew coffee to your Sunday stock up grocery list. For this particular post, I used Ground Work... and truth be told... cotdam it's good (nah not sponsored, but this gem of caffeine was found at Lucky's Market and will forever be a staple in this blonde household).
So... first thing you have to do is mix 1:1 cold brew to water and pour it into an ice cube tray. If you're trying to be super duper extra, go ahead and get a flamingo/pineapple/palm tree ice cube mold; for the rest of us, a simple ice cube tray will work. I covered my ice cube tray with plastic wrap to prevent any ice burn that may occur.
I froze the 1:1 cold brew concentrate to water mixture in a normal ice cube tray for 3 and a half hours and it did the trick. (sorry kids, didn't take a picture of frozen coffee cubes, it really wasn't that exciting) Popped the coffee ice cubes out of the tray into separate ziplock baggies (3-coffee ice cubes per baggy).
Next up, actually putting those genius coffee cubes to good use.
I used the same cold brew coffee I used for the ice cubes as I did for the actual morning coffee (Ground Work). Except this time, I used about a half a cup of cold brew concentrate to 1-cup of water, so 1:2 parts (I'm partial to Evian... super extra).
And dennnnn... since I'm all about that "this not a drill," 6-week get-it-together vibe for my best friend's wedding, I opted out of a dairy creamer and went for a non-dairy almond milk substitute.
Not saying I don't believe in full on heavy creamer, half-n-half or whatever you choose to go with (because lord knows I crushed half a tub of cookie dough last night... not sorry). This non-dairy (and healthy) substitute was just as fulfilling as a heavy creamer and hit the spot.
So when the Sunday scaries start to creep in, grab your cold brew concentrate by the bottle and set your week up like the boss biatch you are. Blonde appetit!
